From the World-renowned shaper and International Hall of Fame Surfboard Builder, Nev began shaping surfboards in his garage in a suburb north of Perth in 1972. A year later, he and two colleagues started Odyssey Surfboards. Nev built surfboards there until 1977 when he moved to Burleigh Heads and launched Nev Hyman surfboards. He later started two other companies: Nev Future Shapes and Firewire Surfboards. In the early ‘90s, Nev was among the pioneers of computer shaping and was involved in the development of surfboard design software that eventually became the industry standard. + Cross has teamed up with Nev & SW to produce a capsule range of boards, bringing his surfboard expertise across the pond from Australia to the UK at affordable prices.
The Nev Ripable has the same outline as the boards Nev shaped in 2012 & 2013 for Stu Kennedy & Michel Bourez when at Firewire, if you’re looking for the edge, look no further, only the experienced surfer need apply.
