Technical - Kayak

Melco T-5000 tape is applied using a heat press for a watertight seal and additional reinforcement.

Panels are double glued and then butted together followed by stitching that does not penetrate all the way through the neoprene. Inside the wetsuit, heat welded tape goes over the seams in high stress areas, this further strengthens the seams.

Neoprene is lapped together and then stitched, this creates a flat, flexible and comfortable seam. Flatlock stitching can be identified by a band of interlocked thread on both sides of the wetsuit, sometimes utilising a coloured thread for visual effect.

RS Flex MK2 is the latest evolution of RS FLEX neoprene! Now with over 150% + stretch the Ripstop is 10% lighter, the tighter weaved textile provides less water absorption, better durability, and maximum stretch.

Twin waist seals are found on our Dry, Semi-Dry Cags. The twin waist has been designed to be used with a spraydeck. They are designed to keep the water out if layered correctly. It reduces the amount of water that may enter the boat.

Wrist seals to reduce water penetration whilst increasing comfort, creating a snug fit on your wrist minimising flush.

Powergrip is a sticky print on top of the cockpit lining to help your spraydeck grip to your boat.

We add fully taped seams to our fully waterproof garments to keep you dry in the harshest of conditions. Taping all seams on a garment regardless of where they are situated ensures heavy duty waterproofing. Taping the garment also seals the small holes made when the waterproof fabric has been sewn to create the garment. A hot-melt tape is applied over all the seams; this creates a perfect airtight seal allowing added strength and longevity to the garment.

Metalite is a smooth metallic-colored coating that “reflects” heat back in keeping your hands warm when kayaking on those colder days. This fabric provides an excellent surface for heat retention with quick dry properties just what you need from a paddling glove.

Printed silicon grip has been designed to optimise traction achieving maximum grip and durability in wet & dry conditions. The perfect glove grip allowing control and dexterity for a wide range of watersports activities.

The ultimate 3-layer base layer defense system, giving you total comfort and protection even in the most extreme conditions. The water repellent 4-way stretch shell is combined with element protection core membrane. The TIZIP WaterSeal is made from a strong plastic coil zipper on a high strength fabric. Every coil half is safely embedded and secured in a plastic profile. When the TIZIP WaterSeal is closed, the sealing lips above and below the coil are compressed making a perfect seal. The entire plastic profile is highly abrasion resistant.
